As a dual-trained therapist and coach, I offer several services:
What’s it for?
Counselling is good for anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, low self-confidence and relationship problems. It gives you the time and space to understand what is going on for you. Counselling can help you manage your emotions, and generally make life feel easier. It’s about getting to know how your mind works, and how to manage it for optimal mental wellbeing. It’s a safe space to say the unsayable. We are all different and I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. I tailor my approach according to every client’s needs, but we may explore how past events are influencing your current habits and relationships, and what outdated core beliefs are holding you back or keeping you stuck. I also use approaches from CBT and Compassionate Mind Therapy to make change happen.
How does it work?
I currently work with clients via Zoom or telephone.
How often?
Sessions are weekly or fortnightly.
What does it cost?
Sessions are priced competitively and fees will be discussed on contact.
How long does it take?
It’s different for every client, but most have a minimum of 20 sessions.
How do I get started?
Email me on sallybrowntherapy@gmail.com with a brief outline of why you are seeking therapy, and which days/times you could come. I will then get back to you with a suggested time for a brief phone conversation or an initial assessment.
What’s it for?
I coach people who have achieved a level of success in their career, often in creative professions or the public sector, but who feel their self-belief, confidence or personal image is holding them back from reaching their full potential. I have over two decades of experience of working at senior level in the media, so I know first-hand the challenges you can face in an industry where there is a lot of competition and pressure. I also have experience of the decisions involved in making the leap from employed to self-employed, and what’s involved in setting up and running a small business. If you are feeling stuck, coaching can help you reconnect with your focus, passion and motivation. We also work to uncover your personal triggers for anxiety and self-doubt, and find the best strategies for managing them. Coaching can offer a source of impartial, non-judgemental support to help you navigate times of uncertainty and change and cope with difficult relationships with colleagues. It’s a chance to really think about what you want from your career, and how to get there. And I aim to make it an energising and enjoyable process.

This can be ideal if you don’t want ongoing therapy, but would like some support with a specific issue, such as a significant event coming up that you are anxious about, or a big decision you have to make, or to understand something that is happening in your relationship or at work. It’s good if you are at a crossroads or have experienced life changes that you are struggling to process.

This is a breakthrough session designed to create a significant shift. It’s not about me giving you advice (you can get that from friends and family for free!). In coaching, we use deep listening and incisive questioning to help you do the thinking you need to find a new perspective and a way forward.
